Job Summary
The Instructional Designer (ID) is tasked with creating instructional/learning experiences which make the acquisition of knowledge and skill more efficient, effective, and appealing. The ID will assist in developing training solutions using the PADDIE/ADDIE methodology, including: Needs Analysis, Job/Duty/Task Analysis and Front-End Analysis. Design plans that include developing learning objectives, determining learning strategies, content flow, testing/evaluation requirements and interactivity, and planning the courseware functionality for Instructor-Led Training (ILT), Blended Learning Solutions (BLS), and Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI).
Assist/development of the following:
Instructor Lesson Plans, Student/Trainee Guides, and Job Aids
Scripts/storyboards which define media elements, and programming (user interaction) requirements
Instructional Media Design Package (IMDP)
Essential Skills
Planning/Analysis
Support the development of a JDTA using the NETC End-to-End (E2E) process
Load JDTA work items into CPM, support JDTA workshop(s), make changes to JDTA data into CPM, completing all required fields
Conduct Training Situation Reports on selected course(s) of instruction. Develop learning objectives in CPM with ISD considerations to include:
Interactivity Level
Assessment Strategy
Gap Analysis
Learning Strategy
Overview
Prerequisite Knowledge
Content Design and Development
Create/modify existing measurable Terminal and Enabling Learning Objectives
Determine the logical flow of a curriculum based on Job, Duty, Task Analysis (JDTA), Front-End Analysis (FEA) data. Prioritizing, Clustering and sequencing Objectives
Identify Instructional Media
Developing assessment Strategies
Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Candidate must be eligible to obtain a CAC and a Secret Clearance
Knowledge of the ISD process in the development of Instructor-Led Training (ILT), Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), and Blended Learning Solutions (BLS)
Understanding of and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS), Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS), Sharable Content Object Reference Manual (SCORM)
Awareness of capabilities of web/multimedia development tools such as Flash and Dreamweaver, and graphic design/manipulation tools such as Photoshop
Excellent communication skills are a must. Experience in designing/developing training curriculum's for U.S. Navy and knowledge of adult learning methods/strategies are a plus
Preferred Experience and Education:
Experience with Adobe E-learning Suite or equivalent
Experience working with Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM), Content Planning Module (CPM) and Learning Objectives Module (LOM).
Experience with MIL-HDBK-29612, and NAVEDTRA 130-138
Working Conditions/Hours
The position is located in our Panama City Beach, FL office
Moderate travel will be required to support this requirement, trips to San Diego, Norfolk, and other fleet concentration areas
Working hours can include weekends, holidays, and after hours
Drug-free work environment. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and be willing to submit to and pass random drug screenings
