$18 per hour Job Summary As a Utilities Plumber Helper, you are responsible for assisting the Plumber with running new water waste lines to existing buildings and tying in from city taps.
Duties and Responsibilities Assist with utility work including shoveling Assist with water line installation Assist with sewer line installation Assist with backflow preventer installations Creating and delivering materials for job Assist the Service Plumber with interpreting the blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials in residential buildings.
Assist the Plumber with Installing supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation Learn to assemble fittings and valves for installation and modify the lengths of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials.
Assist the service plumber to collaborate with other construction workers, such as contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing Learn to perform tests, analysis, and inspections of plumbing systems to identify problems and replacing worn parts.
Assist with maintaining good working order of Company vehicle.
Includes:
refueling and servicing as necessary, reporting mechanical issues, washing, and cleaning the Company vehicle on a regular basis.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Work Days Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday but must have the flexibility to work weekends, holidays and afterhours, when required.
Willing to work overtime, when the situation arises.
Qualifications/ Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability Ability to work well with co-workers Must have a valid Driver's License Physical Requirements Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time.
Lift and carry material weighing up to 75 lbs; occasionally lifting items weighing more than 100 lbs with assistance.
Ability to climb and utilize a ladder safely.
Good physical fitness; hand-eye coordination and ability to quickly respond to sounds.
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, including outdoors in times of excessive heat and inclement weather.
