Serves as communications coordinator for the department as assigned; gathers information and prepares emails, memoranda, announcements, flyers, press releases, bulletin boards, etc.

Coordinates assigned sports league activities as assigned; recruits and trains coaches.
Coordinates the rental of department facilities as assigned; updates rental agreements and ensures compliance with user fees and policies.
Manages club team and individual rentals as assigned; maintain field schedules.
Monitors fields and facilities during rental, tournaments, and general play as assigned.
Manages the inventory of equipment and supplies as assigned.
Recruits and manages program and event sponsor as assigned.
Prepares sales tax reports as assigned.
Manages the recreation software program as assigned.
Provides information and assistance to the general public.
Performs related duties.
Typical Qualifications Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Florida for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

GUIDELINES Guidelines include sports association rules and regulations, rental policies and fee schedules, and city and department policies and procedures.
These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.

The variety of tasks to be performed contributes to the complexity of the work.
The purpose of this position is to perform specialized duties in support of department recreation programs.

PTO Leave:
Leave begins accruing immediately; however, cannot be used until three (3) months of service has been completed:

248 hours At the end of the year, any unused PTO leave will be placed in your PTO bank (up to 380 total hours).
Time will be accrued bi-weekly & shown on each paycheck.
After the 380 hours are filled, any unused PTO leave will be lost and cannot be used the following year.
RETIREMENT:
General employees are fully vested after 10 years of employment.
Employees can become partially vested at five (5) years of service.
Partial vesting at five (5) years is 50%, six (6) years 60%, seven (7) years 70%, eight (8) years 80%, and nine (9) years 90%.
General Employees are eligible for normal retirement upon the earlier of reaching age 55 and the completion of 10 years of credited service or reaching age 50 and the completion of 20 years of credited service.
The amount of normal retirement benefit is based on your credited service and average final compensation.
