Accountant - Income Audit

Position Status Year-Round Position Type Full-Time (Average more than 30 hours weekly) What Will I Be Doing? Responsible for Income Audit and General Ledger clerical functions The Accountant - Income Audit is responsible for the daily review procedures.
Review the night audit function and properly adjust record transactions and assemble daily reports to support the day's activities.
Performs a review and verification of recorded revenues for the resort operations.
Proficiency with excel spreadsheets and an understanding of revenue recognition policies and procedures consistent with Uniform Systems of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (11th Edition) The following procedures are performed as part of the income audit process:
Review for any out of balances Performs various reconciliation procedures, include daily credit card and revenue reconciliations to ensure all balances per night audit are recorded in the proper line items.
Reviews for reasonableness to make sure that the results are in line with expectations.
Prepare the room rate discrepancy report to be provided to the Director of Revenue to investigate differences.
Reconcile revenues and night audit data input from Opera and / or OnQ to ProfitSage.
Verifies all data per micros agrees to what was recorded in ProfitSage.
Differences are investigated and resolved to ensure source data and daily report in agreement.
Ensure the control numbers used to calculate the Over/Short report is accurate Reconcile credit card activity from a credit card software (Shift 4) report (i.
e.
transactions processed via the software) vs.
systems to bank deposits.
Process credit card chargebacks/adjustments by researching all details related to the charge.
Determine the validity of the chargeback, and acquire the necessary support to issue a response to the issuing bank.
Miscellaneous tasks as requested What Experience is Needed to Be Successful? To be successful, you should have knowledge of general hospitality and club operations and an experienced user of all Microsoft Office programs.
Experiences in General Ledger and Night Audit Experience is preferred.
Should have a flexible schedule.
Must have higher level communication skills as you are the liason between the properties and the accounting team.
Must be proficient using a 10-key with only touch.
What are the Physical Requirements of the Job? Most of this position is indoors in an office/cubicle setting.
There will be frequent onboarding, occasional bending/reaching overhead to place items in storage or removing from the courier envelopes.
There is very rare time working outdoors, kneeling and climbing ladders.
